REVIEW- Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Contour Palette

REVIEW- Kat Von D Shade & Light eye contour palette

So it was my birthday and I decided to splurge a little and have a little fun at Sephora, which is a pretty rare occurrence for me. But there's a few things that I've been dying to try and I thought it might be nice to review a few higher end products for you guys. Don't you worry though, I am still all about affordable cruelty free beauty but hey every once in a while you gotta treat yourself!

Ok so now on to the review...

This review is on the new Kat Von D Shade & Light eye contour palette. She came out with a contour palette not too long ago that everyone seems to rave about so this palette is an extension of that one. It contains all matte shades and is a nice neutral palette, which I think is suitable for most people. You can choose to use this palette with a lighter, more neutral hand or you can easily create a nice smoky eye effect with a few of the shades.

The palette retails for $55.00 (CN) and is sold at Sephora. It contains 12 shades which are arranged in three separate quads. Each quad contains a base color (the larger shade) as well as a contour, define and highlight. The palette also contains  really nice instruction booklet which shows you various looks, which I find to be extremely useful.

Neutral Quad

This quad is great for people who want a subtle eye look and for me provides a great every day eye look.

Cool  Quad

This quad is ideal if you want  a sexy smoky more defined look. Gorgeous for a more dramatic night time eye look. And don't get me started on how pigmented the black shade is. Loving it!

(base: lazarus  contour: saleos  define: shax  highlight: liberatus)

Warm Quad

This quad is my personal favorite. It offers a little more color while still staying in the neutral family. I can see myself using this particular quad over and over again.

overall thoughts

I am totally in love with this palette! First off, it is extremely wearable for both day and night time looks. And I think the selection of shades would be suitable for many skin tones and eye colors. The shadows themselves are super creamy when swatched and apply effortlessly without any creasing. They aren't chalky whatsoever and the pigmentation is super nice. In my opinion, I think this is a must have neutral palette and despite being a tad pricey I do think you get your money's worth in quality as well as quantity of product that you actually get. The packaging is nice and sturdy and I love that it comes with a nice big mirror.

Overall I would give this palette an A. A great neutral palette to have in your collection

Till next time, lovelies!

Joanna xoxo
