My Summer Essentials

So it's that time of year when the sun is out, bright colors are in and you just want to enjoy every single moment. For me, I think summer is the perfect time to be playful not only in your fashion choices but in your makeup as well. Time to bring on bolder colors and time to just really play around with your look. That being said, it's also the time of sweltering heat and most of us want that no muss, no fuss kind of look as well. Whether you want a playful, sexier look or a simple low key look; it's all here in this summer guide. 

Here are my personal top summer essentials in beauty, fashion and of course makeup. Enjoy! And have fun!

Fashion:

Let's be real, summer is hot! Who wants to spend hours getting ready and fussing over what to wear. Summer is all about mixing casual with a few sexy pieces that can easily go from day to night. And don't forget to focus on fabric, that is key. Choose lightweight materials that breathe easily thus keeping you cool, not a sweaty mess! I'm all about flowy materials, looser fitting clothes and most of all comfort!

Here are a few outfits that are my go to's, from daytime casual to a night out

1. daytime casual

This is my go to casual summer look. Jean cut off shorts, a flowy tank top in a fun color and a fun hat to protect yourself from the sun

This is another simple look. Just a skirt, graphic tee and  voila!

 

 

 

 

Another casual must have for me- lightweight, printed linen pants

2. Night looks

 

These looks are perfect for a night out or when you want something that'll transition easily from day to night. My go to for this category, a dress or long flowy maxi skirt. Easy and sexy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beauty:

 

 

 

My number one beauty concern during the summer is protection from the sun, so your skin should be your number one priority this time of year. That includes ALL your skin, from your head down to your toes. Now of course let's be real here, we all crave that gorgeous sun kissed glow during the summer months. I'm pretty damn pale so this is always a concern of mine but obviously I also don't want to expose myself to the harmful effects of the sun. Luckily, now there are so many self tanners and safe options out there that we can all have that sun kissed glow, minus the negative effects. I also like to really take care of my feet during the summer since sandals are going to make an appearance at this time of year. I'm also including a makeup setting spray, which is key for me because no one likes that oh my makeup melted off my face look. So not cute! Plus, it also keeps your face hydrated which is important during these hot months. Here are my top beauty must have's

One word- brights! Summer is the perfect time to play around with your makeup and just have fun. Whether you add pops of colors to your eyes with some colorful eyeshadows or you do a bold bright lip, it's up to you. Have fun and don't be afraid to try new things! Of course, we also have to talk about another summer makeup essential- bronzer! I'm all about glowing sun kissed skin and of course that applies to my face as well.
