Urban Decay Gwen eyeshadow palette review

Urban Decay Gwen Eyeshadow Palette

I got this palette a while ago, played around with it with every intention to review it but I fell in love with it so much I put it on my vanity and use it a few times a week. So yes, in a nutshell I think you can tell that my review is a really positive one! But I figured it's still available for purchase online and it's such a great palette that I couldn't not share my thoughts.

This palette comes as part of a collection released by Urban Decay along with Gwen Stefani. (see my previous post if you'd like to see my review on the lipsticks from this line) This palette comes with 15 shades, 12 of which are new and 3 are from the regular Urban Decay collection. It includes mostly neutral shades with a few jewel toned ones as well. There are quite a lot of shimmer and irredescent shades along with a few mattes, so if you prefer a matte palette this might not be for you. I personally love having a mix of both and |I will say the shimmer is subtle and isn't sparkly which tends to be flaky and in my opinion doesn't look as natural. This palette provides you with enough playfulness without being over the top and is very wearable, which is a major plus for me.

I can't go on without mentioning the packaging, which is stunning. It's a very sturdy palette so very good to travel with and also comes with a really nice mirror. Overall the packaging alone reeled me in! Now on to the actual eyeshadows. As with other Urban Decay eyeshadows, these do not disappoint. They are very pigmented, creamy and even the shimmer shades have barely any fallout. Like I already said, most of the palette includes neutrals mixed in with a few more colorful shades. I personally prefer the neutral shades (the first 3 rows) because those are more wearable for me. The matte shades are super creamy and the shimmers are nice and subtle and apply really nicely. The only color that I find to be not pigmented at all is Harajuku (the pink shade), which doesn't bother me seeing as I never wear pink eyeshadow. Also the shade 1987 isn't personally my favorite. It's a gold, which can be really nice for the summer, but I find it too yellow-y for my liking. Other than that, I am upper impressed with this palette and it really has become one of my favorite palettes that I always reach for.
