REVIEW- Essence Liquid Lipsticks (all 6 shades)

I've tested out quite a few liquid lipsticks by now so when I stumbled upon these by Essence I was very curious to give them a whirl. Essence is a very affordable drugstore brand so of course I got excited when I saw that they came out with their versions of liquid lipsticks. And for only $3.99!

First off, the packaging is super cute. These are smaller than most liquid lipsticks but I can overlook that since they are so cheap. That being said, the packaging is very sturdy and would be perfectly fine if you threw them in your purse. I also like the fact that the packaging is clear so it makes it very  easy to distinguish the color of the product. Despite being small, it applies pretty easily due to the doe foot applicator.

The color selection is also pretty nice. Very wearable shades if you prefer a more natural look. As for the formula, the website describes the product as "the best of a lipstick and lip gloss" and that it provides a nice shine. I personally think it's more like a tinted lip gloss, rather than a liquid lipstick. The formula is glossy, like a lip gloss, but I will say that it's not super tacky once on the lips. The pigmentation, however, is more intense than a typical lip gloss so I was quite pleasantly surprised with the color payoff.

All that being said, I think these are really nice and good for people that like the sheer aspect of a lip gloss but you want more pigmentation. I'll definitely be using these on my more natural makeup days. Really nice for a low key, easy, summer look.
