Hot Or Not? Essence Pure Nude foundation

Hot or Not? Essence Pure Nude Make Up natural finish no make up feel foundation

I always love playing around with different foundations as a comparison and also to see what is out there that not only works but is a great deal. I don't know about you, but I use different foundations for different purposes. Sometimes I want full coverage, sometimes I want a more matte or dewey finish and sometimes I want a really natural finish for those days where I wear minimal makeup.

Essence recently came out with a "no makeup" natural finish liquid foundation so I was vey curious to test it out since Essence is a crazy affordable brand. This foundation is meant to have a very natural finish, therefore light coverage. It's supposed to feel very lightweight on the skin, as though you're not wearing any makeup at all. It only comes in a few shades, which obviously isn't a plus, and retails for $4.99.

When I first swatched the product I was very surprised at how liquidey the foundation was, so heads up on that. I would say that is feels and applies more like a tinted moisturizer, rather than a foundation so keep that in mind depending on what your preference is. I applied the product with my beauty sponge, as I normally do, and it does blend very well and leaves you with a nice dewey natural finish. It doesn't emphasize my dry patches, which is great, but on the flip side obviously it doesn't give you much coverage.

Overall I do like how the foundation feels on my skin and I do plan on using it on days where I wear very minimal makeup. It's a nice tinted moisturizer and doesn't feel oily or slick on the face. This being said, I have a tinted moisturizer that I adore and like a lot better than this one (Physicians Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer- it leaves my skin looking so dewey and healthy. I love it!! I would highly recommend to check it out).

My final thoughts? This is not a bad product by any means. Is it a favorite of mine? No. But it is worth giving a try if you're looking for a natural foundation.
