New Product Alert!- Physicians Formula Highlight & Contour Palette

Physicians Formula Highlight & Contour Palette--All New!

I am always on the lookout for new products to try, especially at the drugstore so when I heard of this new palette from Physicians Formula I had to get my hands on it. Highlighting and contouring is all the rage and not dying out any time soon, so no surprise that Physicians Formula decided to jump on the bandwagon.

They came out with two of these palettes- a shimmer one and an all matte one. I picked up the shimmer one because I prefer shimmers but just keep in mind that there is a matte option if that's your preference. This palette obviously offers shimmer highlighting shades made to give you that luminous glowy look. Each palette comes with 3 shades, two for highlighting and the darker one for contouring. As someone with fair skin, the darkest shade is way too dark for so keep that in mind if you have fair to light skin tones. With that in mind, the darkest shade can be used as an eyeshadow which is really beautiful and bronzy. A great thing about Physicians Formula is that their products usually contain good or your skin properties, which to me merits their higher price point. For this palette is has what they call "glow activator technology" which is supposed to enhance and extent the life of your look as well as improve your skin's radiance. So for me, always a plus when my makeup is actually good for my skin.

As with many of their products this palette contains
  • no fragrance
  • no parabens
  • is hypoallergenic
  • gluten free
  • oil free

The back of the box comes with a detailed set of instructions about how to highlight and contour properly, which always comes in handy.

The palette also comes with a mirror as well as a brush and retails for around $20.00

My Thoughts:

When I first saw this palette I fell in love and as someone who loves highlighter I knew I had to try it.
When you first dip your brush in the pans you get a lot of kick up. It is very powdery! That being said if you dip your brush in slightly and tap off the excess you're fine. The shades are extremely pigmented, which is great but if you're fair like me then really be careful or you'll end up with streaks on your face. That being said, they are all very easy to blend and feel really lightweight on your skin. The shades have that perfect shimmer to give you a nice glow without being chunky or glittery. Major plus. Overall, this palette is really beautiful. Yes you need to be careful with it but I still think it is beautiful and worth the purchase. Even the brush that comes with the palette is nice. My only big negative is the very clunky packaging. Kind of annoying but not a big deal to me. If you're into highlighters then I definitely recommend this palette. The only time I would say maybe pass is if you're extremely fair because they might be too pigmented for you.
