Battle of the Hydrating Primer Mists- Hard Candy VS. ELF
Which Hydrating Primer Mist Will Come Out On Top? Hard Candy or ELF?
Now on to the makeup...
I only got into using primers when I really started falling in love with makeup and now I can't live without them. They really do extend the wear of your makeup and as someone with dry skin it really helps even out my skin so my foundation can go on flawlessly. I have noticed lately that a few brands are now coming out with primer mists, instead of the traditional primer so of course I was intrigued. Even more so when I found these specific primer mists that are meant to hydrate the skin as well. So I thought I'd test out these two, compare them and let you know which one I prefer and what my overall thoughts are. Are they worth the hype? Do they actually hydrate your skin?
Read on to find out my thoughts...
Hard Candy Sheer Envy Hydrating Primer Mist
$8.00
This primer claims to offer 12 hour wear and is meant to not only prime but also hydrate and refresh your skin. What makes it a little extra special is the fact that it's infused with coconut water which if you didn't know contains electrolytes which really hydrate the skin. As someone with dry skin I really wanted to love this product and I tell ya, boy was I not disappointed. I adore this primer! It feels so amazingly refreshing on the skin so even if you don't have dry skin I highly recommend this for summer use to just refresh your skin. It really provides much needed moisture to my face, which really helps in making my foundation apply more flawlessly. A definitely must buy in my books. I honestly cannot live without this primer now, which says a lot! Love it!!
ELF Aqua Beauty Primer Mist
$8.00
Another hydrating primer mist but this one is infused with water. Meant to leave your skin looking dewey and soft. Basically claims to do the exact same thing as the Hard Candy primer, which is why I wanted to test them head to head to see if one comes out on top. Well as much as I love ELF as a brand, I have to say that this primer disappointed me. It does do what it claims. It does leave your skin feeling refreshed but it doesn't quite hit the spot the way the other primer does. And not sure if I got a defective bottle but the spray on this thing is not even close to a mist. It literally drenched my face~ And instead of a mist feeling, which feels really good, this is a harsh spray. It just does not even compare to the Hard Candy one. Sorry ELF, I wanted to love you but sadly I would pass on this product.

So in case you couldn't tell, we have a clear winner....the Hard Candy primer mist wins hands down! Run, don't walk to your local Walmart to try this bad boy. I promise you will not regret it, especially for all of my dry skin ladies.
