Review- Tarte Make Believe in Yourself palette

Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette- review, swatches and all that good stuff!

I recently discovered, as I was going through my makeup collection, that I have a small obsession with palettes. Ok who am I kidding. A pretty big obsession! They can be so versatile and many offer more than just eyeshadows so hey a two in one! And can we talk about some of the packaging...so hard to resist! If you've scrolled through my blog you'll notice that I do talk mostly about drugstore makeup because of its affordability. I'm a single mom so as much as I love makeup I do try to get deals whenever I can, which I'm sure many people can relate to. That being said, as a makeup lover I of course love going to Sephora from time to time and my major weakness is always a pretty palette.

I own a few Tarte palettes and honestly Tarte is one of my favorite higher end brands because I think the quality is top notch, it's not super expensive and their products are very natural and made with great ingredients. I especially love their palettes because most offer very natural eyeshadows, which I personally am a fan of. I tend to go for a more neutral eye look most days out of the week. That being said, when I saw this baby at Sephora it immediately caught my eye. Yes, it's not a neutral palette but it's also very wearable and not too crazy. And omg so pretty! How was I to resist?! So if this palette catches your eye then continue reading to see if it's worth the purchase or not...spolier alert, it so is! Even if you just want to stare at it hehe

First things first, I did check their website and this palette is still available despite being limited edition and I know I have seen it relatively recently at my local Sephora here in Montreal. Also, since I am all about a great deal you should know that normally this palette runs for $52.00CA but it is now on sale for only $39.00CA.

Ok so now a little bit about the palette...

This palette, along with the brushes that came out with this collection is unicorn inspired hence all the pretty jewel toned colors. It comes with 10 shadows as well as one eye & cheek highlighter. As with so many of their products, it is made with Amazonian clay and contains mineral pigments so great for your skin especially if you're sensitive.

I'll go through all of the shades and show you swatches then tell you my actual review.

  • myth (matte nude)
  • magic (bronze)
  • wings (copper)
  • marvel (metallic sage)
  • trance (taupe slate)

  • fairy (metallic lavender)
  • mystic (blue pearl)
  • dream (turquoise)
  • crystal (irredescent champagne)
  • pixie (golden pink)

  • believe -- pearl highlight

This palette is stunning. The colors are so unique and they contain just the right amount of shimmer without being sparkly. As you can see from the swatches, it is very pigmented and I will say that if you wet your brush the shadows pop even more. As with my previous experience with Tarte shadows, they are super easy to apply and blend and are just great quality. The highlight is gorgeous, Subtle but you can build it up ut it adds just the right amount of glow to your face. Overall, this palette has quickly become a favorite in my collection. I am always impressed by Tarte palettes and this one definitely does not disappoint. The perfect fun, shimmery palette for the summer and a must have for all the other girly makeup lovers like myself.I tell ya, I no joke stare at this palette and salivate every single time. Is that weird? Please tell me you do that too. Please.

Till next time lovelies! xoxo

(Just a note- pictured I showed the unicorn brushes that came with this collection but I can't find them on the Tarte site so I believe that you cannot get them anymore so just a heads up if you were eyeing them)
